Grayson's 5th birthday party

Saturday was Grayson's 5th birthday party. We've been to every one. This one was held at the local fire station. Apparently that's a thing you can do. The kids played on the front lawn for bit, then went inside for a a little presentation by the firefighters and a tour of the firestation. Then cake, and more playing outside.

I got to hold Grayson's baby sister for about an hour, until she fell asleep. It was great. The best part was being able to hand her off to someone else when my arm also started to fall asleep.

Grayson's birthday is exactly a month before Alice's, so every year his party marks the beginning of preparations for Alice's birthday and a reminder that she too is about to be a year older. Something about turning 5 seems like a big milestone.
