Back to School

 At the end of August, the kids finally headed back to school. This year Alice starts 6th grade, moves up to the middle school and begins her foray into playing the flute. Simon is in 4th grade.

Eno River with the Weimers

 I finally arranged a playdate for Zac! He and our neighbor Pete took Simon, Calvin and Liam for an afternoon of fishing and kayaking at Eno River.

Alice to Anna's lake house

 Jenn and Aurora invited Alice to come with Anna to their family's little lake house (really a trailer at a flooded creek...).  It looks like they had a blast!

Fun times with the Grandparents

 Nelson and Stana came to stay for about ten days in the middle of August, since I was already back at work. We failed to take many pictures of them, unfortunately, but luckily they documented some of the fun. The visit included lots of bike rides, fishing at the pond and creek, ice-skating, a trip to Eno River, and of course, apple picking.

Summer in the best neighborhood

 The pool always provides lots of fun!

This cucumber was growing wild by the greenway and Simon was so thrilled to pick it.

A heavy rain caused the pond to fill back in rapidly. The kids had fun exploring the rushing water.
