On Wednesday morning, it was miraculously dry. Zac got to pack up all our stuff while the kids went down to the creek to play. We bid farewell to our beloved trees and creek and drove home.

Day 4: Low Gap Trail to Cosby Creek + Nature Trail
Our last full day on the camping trip we decided to take it easy. We did a half mile hike up Low Gap Trail just to get to Cosby Creek and climb around. Then we walked back to our campsite for lunch. In the afternoon, we went down the the nature trail, a little short loop right by the campground. The loop wasn't that exciting, so the kids just played in the creek, building rivers and tunnels in the rocks.
In the morning, there was a deer near our campsite. Glad it wasn't a bear!

Day 3: Gabes Mountain Trail to Hen Wallow Falls
Our second hike took us up Gabes Mountain Trail to Hen Wallow Falls. This was to be our big hike of the trip, since it would be over four miles. Some day I hope to do longer hikes again.

Day 2: Lower Mt Cammerer Trail to Sutton Ridge Overlook
In our hikes I've realized that short hikes with lots of play time are the best hikes and the least likely to cause Simon to cry. There were four trails emanating from our campground, and I planned for us to do three of them. So for the first day, we did the Lower Mt. Cammerer Trail to Suttong Ridge Overlook, a a mere 2.6 mile round trip journey. Perfect.
