Since Simon's wellness visit where we were reminded that he should really have at least 5 words in addition to mama and dada by now, we've really been amping up his tutoring. Although he doesn't really say mama and dada (those were not among Alice's first words either) he has made some progress.
Simon's official first word: Kitty cat. Although it sounds more like "key", he is consistent and always says it when he sees our cat or a picture of a cat. He really likes our cat.
Simon's official second word: ball.
Today I also played a game with him where I would say, "Where's the banana?" and he would find the plastic banana somewhere on the floor and bring it to me and I would pretend to eat it.
