On Sunday morning, I had invited Alice's friend group over to play, figuring everyone else's kids were probably tired of being stuck at home for so long too. Anna and Oscar (and his two little brothers) came. The kids all alternated between playing together, fighting, and playing by themselves. It was great fun. It was also fun to see how Oscar and his brothers played with the train track. They set right to work making a big track. The families were also interesting case studies. We had a family with an only child (Anna) a pair (Alice & Simon) and three (Oscar, Felix, Xavier). The family of three had by far the most cooperative and independent kids. As always, Zac and I enjoy these playdates as a time to visit with the other parents. All the talk right now is about our kids heading off the kindergarten next year, since the registration starts in January.
After everyone left, we had lunch and naps, we left the bounce house out, and Simon actually got in it and did some jumps. Previously he has been afraid of it and would only go inside and cling to me. One small jump for Simon, one giant leap for progress!
