Day 2: Enjoying the House and Pool

On our first full day at the mountain house in Brevard, we just stayed home. I picked this house because it seemed great for the kids: swings, treehouse, game room, tire swing and pool. It did not disappoint.

Nelson kept the kids busy in the play room while I made crepes for breakfast. Simon has an unusual way of eating them.

Then, we played on the swings and checked out the tree house.

The tree house was pretty hard to get up into, so it actually wasn't very functional for the kids to play in.

Once it warmed up enough, we headed to the pool. Alice is making a lot of progress as a swimmer and is gaining in confidence. She always has a big grin on her face when she's in the water. Simon is also working on becoming more courageous.

After swimming for a long time, we headed in for lunch and naps. Getting to eat lunch on the porch with the stunning mountain view was so fun.

Then it was back to the pool!

Simon's favorite thing to do in the water was to shoot "fireworks" with the water cannon.

The pool was the perfect depth to encourage Alice to try swimming more. She could touch, but since the water was shoulder-deep, it started to be more efficient to try and swim around rather than walk.

We stayed in the pool until supper time. The kids had fun eating at the kitchen island with grandma.

After supper, there was still time to enjoy some other fun features of the house!
