NC Transportation Museum with Grandma & Grandpa Shogren

On Sunday afternoon, we drove about two hours to Spencer to visit the NC Transportation Museum, "located on the site of what was once southern Railway Company's largest steam locomotive servicing facility." It was another warm, gorgeous fall day, and we had a lot of fun exploring the site and even going on a train ride.

The kids and Zac even got to ride on a real turntable at the Roundhouse.

After the museum, we started the drive home and both kids fell asleep as soon as we were on the highway. So we drove for a bit before stopping at a restaurant for supper. We ended up at a Chinese buffet, which was perfect because we didn't have to wait for food (always the downfall for us at restaurants with the kids). It was Alice's first time at a buffet, and she absolutely loved the idea of getting to pick her own food.
