Alice was a bit accident prone this week. On Wednesday she bumped her head jumping on her bed at daycare. On Friday at daycare, she thought she heard me coming to pick her up and in her excitement she ran, tripped over a pillow and slid into a bookshelf, sustaining damage to her left eye. It was red and puffy Friday evening, but over the weekend it developed into a proper black eye. Then, at the park on Saturday, she ran, she tripped, and she did a face plant on the sidewalk near the tennis courts. She got a bloody nose in addition to scraping the top of her nose. All week, she had been obsessed with bandaids and declared she needed one every time she hurt herself (which is quite frequently). Each time, I would say, "You don't need a bandaid. Bandaids are only for if you're bleeding." So in a way, her face plant Saturday was a victory: she finally got her bandaid.
