I took the kids on a little hike to Hemlock Bluffs on Sunday. Because the schools are closed, we feel the need to try and go out for a hike at least once a weekend just for a change of scenery.
Simon got really sad at the beginning of the hike because even although I warned him it was on a boardwalk near a river that he wasn't allowed to go in, he still cried when he was confined to the boardwalk and not allowed to go in the river.
After doing the brief loop hike, I took the kids off the trail and up one of the bluffs. Then he had fun! What he likes to do these days is find a big stick and whittle it into a spear. Then he hunts for giant leaves and generally just throws the spear around and acts wild.
