The night before we went to our neighborhood pool for the first time, Alice was beyond excited. She loooooooves swimming.
Although the pool technically opened last weekend, it was too chilly to go then. But today was the "opening the pool" party, and the weather was warm and sunny, so it was the perfect day to go. Unfortunately, our pool keys didn't work. Fortunately, a social committee member let us in, and explained that they all had to get new keys (they're electronic) last summer because the key box got hit by lightning. Since our house was vacant over the summer, they keys we got from the real-estate agent were the outdated ones.
The pool is quite large and beautiful, with a view of a pond (not the same one we live on) and it wasn't crowded at all, compared to the public pools we'd been going to the last couple of years. The water was very cold, but the kids were undeterred.
