I took Alice for her swim evaluation at the Triangle Aquatic Center (so she could be placed in a practice group). Two of our neighbors and summer swim team friends have joined the team for year-round swimming and spoke highly of the program. Alice has done quite well and seems to really enjoy swimming, so we finally decided to take the plunge and have her officially join a sport this school year. So we now belatedly join all the other parents in rearranging our schedule around practice times, spending evenings driving, and paying tons of money for our kid to develop another skill set.
One bright side of spending my evenings at the pool is there are great views of the sunsets.
