On Cam's birthday, Thursday, we went to Clear Creek Metro Park to hike on the Fern Trail. The scenery was beautiful.
The kids love to go off the trail to climb the boulders.

Simon was into striking creative poses today.
Of course, at every creek or pool below a cave, he had to look for creatures. And he usually found crawdads and salamanders.
For the last section of the hike, we ended up at Clear Creek itself, where the kids frolicked in the water.
Meanwhile, I took nature pictures to entertain myself.
Back at the house, we had pizza for supper and then celebrated Cam's birthday (65!).
After the cake, we headed out to the back field for a giant bonfire.
I hope my 65th birthday is this fun-filled!
