Then Zac headed off to work, and the neighbors came over to play. I took Simon and Elli on a walk by the pond so they could look for feathers.
Alice and Ed put together the new Lego set Alice got from Tom & Ami for her birthday.
After lunch, we went to the pool, where we were joined by Elli and also the Niu family.
Simon is getting better at swimming!
We had Simon's favorite meal for supper: grilled salmon, green beans, and couscous.
Then it was time for dessert!
After cake, we opened the presents. Simon let Elli help him with everything. It's funny how generous he is to a friend, compared to how much he and Alice fight over everything. Like with the cake, Simon planned it out in advance: "Elli, since you're my friend, you can blow out three candles."
One of the things we got Simon was a mallet and stake. When we had camped at Izzy's earlier in the spring, Simon spend half the time pounding in a stake and removing it. Good to see the thrill hasn't worn off yet.
