Breaking the ice

This being North Carolina, the schools were still closed three days after we got an inch of snow and ice. But it was finally warming up, so I took the kids out to play near the pond. They had fun smashing the ice with sticks. I absolutely love where we live because there is so much to do with the kids without having to drive anywhere.

The snow was a blessing really.  With a four day weekend, I was able to get a lot unpacked during the kids' naps and we were starting to feel settled in more.
